Konadu's departure will be a big blow- Nii Adjei

Asante Kotoko midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei has admitted it will be difficult to see head coach Maxwell Konadu leave the club.

Konadu, a former striker at the club, has guided the Porcupine Warriors to their first Premier League title in four years in just his first season at the club.

Rumours are however rife the former Wa All Stars coach will quit the Kumasi-based side following his appointment as assistant Black Stars coach.

Adjei-who is longest serving player of the current Kotoko set-up-concedes it will be a big blow for Konadu to exit.

"For now we don't have news yet of his departure but if it happens that he has to leave we will wish him well and hopes he succeeds but really it will be difficult to see him go,'' he told MTNFootball.com.

"He was more than a coach to us but a father and a brother but we cannot also hinder him from his progress in life so we have to congratulate him for a job well done and hope he succeeds in his future engagements.''

Kotoko beat Tema Youth 1-0 at a nearly packed Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday to be officially presented with the trophy they effectively won last month.

They will represent Ghana in next season's CAF Champions League.
