Asante Kotoko have been put on alert after Uriah Asante confirmed he is no more prepared to play for Hearts of Oak.

The Premier League champions are believed to be strong admirers of 19-year-old who has just completed his second loan stint with the Phobians.

Their chances of landing Asante has been given a massive boost after the player’s right holder Isaac Tetteh, a former Hearts of Oak management member revealed Asante is no longer interested in extending his stay with the Accra-based club.

“He (Asante) has told me he is not willing to play for Hearts,” Tetteh told Kumasi-based Angel FM.

“He has tasted the football at Hearts and he says he will no longer don the Phobia jersey.

“It is up to him to decide, if he wants to play for Kotoko, he is free to go, I have no problem with him joining Kotoko or any other club for that matter.

“What however is clear is that he will no longer play for Hearts of Oak.”

Asante has grown to become one of the exciting players of the Ghanaian top flight and was part of Ghana’s U-23 side that won an historic gold medal at the 2011 All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique.
