Kotoko chief Dr KK Sarpong rules out signing expatriate coach
Dr KK Sarpong says Kotoko will not sign an expatriate coach.

Asante Kotoko Executive Chairman Dr KK Sarpong has squashed reports the club are interested in signing an expatriate coach.

Current coach Mas-Ud Dramani has had his future speculated for some time now after the team's elimination from the CAF Champions League.

Kotoko's spluttering performance in the Ghana Premier League has not convinced their followers.

But the club are in third place and one point joint leaders Medeama and

"Bringing in an expatriate is not something I'm contemplating on at all,'' Sarpong told Kumasi-based Metro FM.

"I think the cup winning rate of foreign coaches is very low and that is a major reason I don’t fancy them."

Dr Sarpong believes the 2012 FIFA U17 Women's World Cup bronze winning coach has garnered some decent results in his first season.

"We have a coach and he is doing pretty well though the results are not as we expect. He has played about forty games and he has lost only two,'' he added.

"I think the environment is one factor which has not helped us this season.

"The players tend to freeze at home (Baba Yara Stadium); the pressure from the fans seems to puncture their confidence, hence the many draws."
