Kotoko deny fee for Nii Adjei transfer to TP Mazembe

Asante Kotoko Executive chairman Dr. K.K Sarpong has rubbished reports making rounds the club will earn U$ 400,000 from the sale of Daniel Nii Adjei.

Last season's Premier League Most Valuable Playeris set to join DR Congo giants TP Mazembe in a reported lucrative deal.

But Sarpong insists the club are still negotiating with the former African champions and no fee had been agreed.

"We are now in the process of firming up the deal where the player is yet to undertake a medical," he told Kumasi-based Angel FM.

"No contract has been signed and already there are figures being quoted in the media. It is the height of unnecessary speculations and irresponsibility.

"I can assure you and I re-emphasize that Kotoko is not receiving US$ 400,000 from the Nii Adjei deal.

"I have rubbished this report and therefore it should be regarded as such.”

Nii Adjei will be the second major sale to take place by the Porcupine Warriors this term if the deal isconcretized.

Defender Awal Mohammed was sold to South African club Maritzburg United in the off-season.
