Kotoko are to move for Liberty Professionals midfielder Kennedy Ashia and Ashantigoldââ¬â¢s Yakubu Mohammed at the end of the season, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.
Ashantigold's Mohammed has been a target for the club for the past two seasons but the hope is that, with a potential Champions League football as a carrot, he will finally decide to move, although there is plenty of interest from elsewhere so the move is by no means straightforward.
Liberty Professionals enforce Kennedy Ashia is also on the radar of the Ghanaian champions as they seek to fortify their midfield in the hop of securing Champions League football next season.
Kotoko coach Mas-ud Dramani is believed to be a keen admirer of the talented Ghana Under-20 player and will swoop for his services.
Kotoko and the capital-based side have a wonderful working relationship which has seen players move in the opposite direction.
