Kotoko in a state of comatose under Opoku Nti, board member fumes

Kotoko board member Kwaku Amponsah has lashed out at Samuel Opoku Nti, revealing the under-performing manager can't accept criticism and fears he will lead the team into a ditch.

The Porcupine Warriors appear to be in a state of comatose under the once revered club legend as their season appears to slip from them.

In a no-hold barred attack, the club's board member accused the current General Manager of lacking the temperament to listen to dissenting views.

“In this world, any person who hates to be criticised never becomes successful in whatever business or institution they find themselves”, Amponsah told Kumasi based Kessben FM

“The moment you tell Opoku Nti that this thing must be done this way and not that way, he fumes and creates all sorts of problems."

Nti, a club legend, is under mounting pressure to quit following the side's unflattering start to the Premier League.

He has been accused of running a 'school-boy' management amid the myriad of problems confronting the Ghanaian giants.

The former Ghana international has failed miserably to transform the side since he took over from the celebrated Dr Kofi Kodua Sarpong - a man he worked under during Sarpong's largely successful tenure.

Indeed, he was accused of undermining the work of Dr Sarpong with a view of taking over the leadership of the club.

But after been handed the job on a permanent basis by the club's owner Otumfuo Osei Tutu 11, he has demonstrated a lack of managerial know-how and crass incompetence to turn the downward spiral of the club.

Kotoko have been woeful in Africa inter-club competitions, exiting from the knockout stage on countless occasions.

It does appear the current General Manager has lost the plot amid the growing pressure to resign from the position.

Nti's poor handling of the David Duncan melodrama has amplified the wide held believe that he is simply not qualified to lead the two-time African champions.
