Ghanaian heavyweights Asante Kotoko are having trouble financing a deal for Medeama star midfielder Justice Blay, GHANAsoccernet.com understands.

The combative midfielder enjoyed a successful loan spell with the Ghanaian giants but his valuation is proving too steep for Maxwell Konadu's side.

The Porcupine Warriors are  understandably eager to retain his services  permanently but discussions haven't yielded any positive results with little progress with talks at deadlock.

GHANAsoccernet.com can report that Medeama opened talks with Kotoko Chief Executive Nana Yaw Amponsah several days ago.

But it has now emerged that the Kumasi-based side are struggling to finance a deal for the hugely talented midfielder.

Medeama are still holding out to a reported $100,000 fee while Kotoko are eager to beat down his asking price.

Failure to land Justice Blay will lead to a massive clash with Kotoko supporters - who have been angling for the deal to be tied without further delay.

Medeama are standing firm and have told Kotoko to break bank to sign their highly-rated midfielder.

It's believed Kotoko rivals Hearts of Oak and Legon Cities are all monitoring the situation and could launch bids of their own if Kotoko continue to stall.
