Kotoko supporters have taken to social media to offer their backing to coach CK Akonnor amid threat of being fired and warn the club's trigger-happy' management against the gaffer.

Akonnor is enjoying massive support on social media to keep his job after guiding the team to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Talks of the gaffer being yanked has been heightened largely by the media in Kumasi - home of the Ghanaian giants with wild attempts to get him sacked.

Though the club's chief George Amoako has insisted he will not be touched, talks of him being sacked is just refusing to wash away.

Now social media users have jump to the fray to offer their support to the gaffer who guided them to tthe group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time in 10-years.

Coach CK Akonnor says he does not  fear the sack and will stay on to see out his three-year contract.

The decision to dispense with the services of the former Dreams FC coach will come as a massive shock to the local footballing fans after he appeared to have weaved his way into the hearts of several Kotoko fans.

But in a club which is punctuated with so much 'politics', the move to sack him six months into his three-year reign may not come as a surprise to others.

Kotoko's Cinderella story in CAF Confederation Cup came down crashing after losing to Zambia giants Zesco Unitd, which followed their 1-1 draw at home to Sudanese powerhouse Al Hilal, which effectively killed their ambition of qualifying to the quarter-finals.

Akonnor joined the Porcupine Warriors on a three-year deal in October 2018.
