Kotoko will soon hold a press conference to clarify issues concerning their Executive Board chairman Dr Kofi Kodua Sarpong.
The Ghanaian league champions are unhappy with criticism against the astute business mogul on how he is running the club.
They feel there is a deliberate media agenda to run him down and will therefore organized a press conference to put issues into perspective.
Dr Sarpong has been criticized by a section of the media for failing to show up at last weekend’s Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards gala held in Accra.
Dr Sarpong has enjoyed tremendous success during his three-year mandate, winning the Ghana Premier League back-to-back and qualifying to the MTN FA Cup finals on two occasions.
Despite the successes chalked both on and off the pitch, the former Managing Director of the Tema Oil Refinery has not been spurred the brunt of criticism and this is what the club intend to address.
“We will hold a press conference to clarify issues. We think there is deliberate agenda to run the man down and we’ll not allow that to happen,†a member of the communication team Richmond Yeboah told GHANAsoccernet.com
“For example SWAG invitation never got to us but the media are criticizing KK’s absence.
“Why so much pressure on the man? His achievements are overwhelming. In three years, he has won two league titles and been two times FA Cup finanlist.
“The Adarkwa Jachie project is ongoing, players are best paid. In fact salaries of our players are the best in the Ghana Premier League.
“We take care of their feeding and transport when they train, pay their rent and utility.
“The first club in Ghana to sign a partnership agreement with a foreign club. The achievements are endless.
“We will address all the issue. They should leave the man alone to do what he is doing for our great club.
Kotoko will take on Medeama in the finals of the MTN FA Cup on July 14 in Accra.
