Asante Kotoko SC new striker Kwame Opoku is optimistic the club is the perfect place for his development and also to win laurels.

Opoku joined the Porcupine Warriors on a three-year deal from second-tier side Nkoranza Warriors SC in February 2020.

The highly-rated forward is still awaiting his debut for the Red Army since football activities have been put on hold due to the global pandemic coronavirus.

Opoku believes that Asante Kotoko is the best place for him to improve his career because he and the other players are unified.

"Teamwork is key if a team can achieve its goals. There is unity in the team and the players are very good as well," he said when speaking to Kotoko Express.

"This makes Kotoko the best place for me to improve my career. The club has a lot to achieve if we can remain united.

"They all put up their best in training, and I will also kill myself, so I can also improve the team and my career."

"I knew some of the Kotoko players even before I came here. I met a few of them at the national team camp, and they were very friendly and sociable."

"Those guys welcomed me very well. And those I did not know like (Emmanuel) Gyamfi and Felix (Annan) also showed me love, and I love them back as well.

"The coaches are also very friendly. They correct us when necessary and also jog with us during training. The club has a lot to achieve if we will continue like that."
