Medeama star Kwasi Donsu insists he was not a flop at USL side Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC during his loan spell in 2019.

The midfield dynamo played in the USL and managed 15 appearances.

His only goal for the club in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup when his solitary goal gave them victory over FC Denver.

However, the 24-year-old returned to his parent club at the end of the season and that fuelled talks he failed to make the grades abroad.

Donsu was quick to swat aside such thoughts.

''I didn't fail in the USA during my one year loan. I was sacrificed because of the foreign players' quota policy and the fact that the coach who signed me was fired,'' he told Akoma FM.

Donsu rejoined Medeama but had to work hard to regain his starting position.

''I wasn't worried when I was warming the bench in the course of the season at Medeama. My trip and return affected me,'' he added.
