Lazio rejected Inter bid for Italian international

Published on: 23 February 2016

Serie A side Lazio allegedly rejected the offer placed by Inter for winger Antonio Candreva during the January transfer window.

The Nerazzurri had approached Claudio Lotito, the Biancocelesti president, with a bid in the region of €18 million.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the offer was rejected for two reasons. Firstly, the Lazio executive considered the difficulty of finding an appropriate replacement during the winter transfer window.

Secondly, the alleged interest of international clubs like Barcelona and Arsenal on the Italian international could bring his transfer value well over the €18 million offered by Inter.

According to Radio Sportiva, the Nerazzurri have not given up on the player yet, and will try to sign him during the summer, after the European Cup.

Candreva has collected 32 appearances for Lazio during this season, scoring nine goals and delivering four assists considering all competitions.
