Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has hit a rich vein of scoring form ahead of his country's 2018 World Cup qualifier against Uganda.

The 30-year-old, who is on loan at United Arab Emirates side Al Ahli, netted twice for his side in their 3-2 win over Al Shabab in a League Cup match on Thursday.

The former Sunderland hitman has now scored four goals since he returned to the gulf on a season-long loan from Chinese side Shanghai SIPG.

Ghana coach Avram Grant will be excited with the return of his dependable striker ahead of the opening group E World Cup qualifier against the Cranes.

Gyan is Ghana's all-time leading scorer with 48 goals in over 90 appearances.
