Leicester City defender not keen on Sampdoria move

Sampdoria are interested in signing Leicester City defender Yohan Benalouane, however the move has been put on hold due to the player’s reluctance to leave the Premier League.

The Foxes have enjoyed a fantastic start to the English domestic season so far under Italian coach Claudio Ranieri and currently find themselves top of the Premier League, two points ahead of leaders Arsenal.

As a result, according to Tuttomercatoweb, the former Atalanta defender is eager to stay at the club, despite only making four substitute appearances in the league this season.

It’s believed that Samp coach Vincenzo Montella is still keen to add to his defensive options, but may need to further convince the 28-year-old to get the deal over the line.

Last season at Atalanta, Benalouane helped La Dea avoid relegation from Serie A, making 27 league appearances and scoring one goal.
