Leicester City defender Daniel Amartey wants a return to FC Copenhagen following his struggles at the English side, the Danish side's boss boss Ståle Solbakken has claimed.
The 25-year-old joined the Foxes in 2016 but has been restricted to just 43 starts due to injury.
Amartey has not made a single appearances for the side this season, with his last outing back in October 2018 in a 1-1 stalemate against West Ham United.
The Ghana international is growing increasingly frustrated and appears to be heading towards the exit door.
The centre-back does not appear to be in the plans of manager Brendan Rodgers and is looking to leave the King Power Stadium.
And FC Copenhagen Ståle Solbakken has confirmed the Ghanaian is itching to return home.
"He said he wants to go home [to Copenhagen]," Solbakken told Denmark’s BT.
When asked if the Danish club has the budget to sign Amartey, Solbakken said: "No, they wouldn’t. Not [even] close. But I don’t think he’s going to be expensive in the transfer market because Leicester want to get rid of his salary. But I don’t think it’s going to be here and now."
The versatile Ghanaian made a high profile £6 million move to Leicester City four years ago but injuries have conspired against his growth.
