Liverpool closing on deal for Real Madrid winger Denis Cheryshev

Liverpool are expected to sign Real Madrid winger Denis Cheryshev today.

Real coach Zinedine Zidane confirmed last night he expected Cheryshev to leave today.

Liverpool have been in talks with Cheryshev's father for several days and a deal is close. It had been delayed due to confusion over Real's transfer ban.

However, with the suspension now postponed the move is back on.

Liverpool must fight off competition from Villarreal to land the Russian, who can also play as a central striker.
