Former Liverpool midfielder Joao Carlos Texeira is hopeful the Reds can still be given the chance to become Premier League champions this season.
“I was looking positively at Liverpool's season, it's a club I played at for four-and-a-half years and they treated me very well," he told Mais Fuetbol as translated by Sport Witness.
"I wish Liverpool were champions I played there, I still keep in touch with some people, with Roberto Firmino, for example.
"I hope the Premier League will end and I believe that Liverpool will become champions after 30 years. They're a club who deserve it.”
