Fernando Llorente has signed for Napoli on a free transfer.

Sources told ESPN FC last week that the former Tottenhan striker would move to Serie A on a two-year deal.

The former Spain international was a free agent and drew interest from Russia and Mexico as well as Flamengo, Boca Juniors, PSV Eindhoven, Schalke and Napoli's Serie A rivals Fiorentina.

However, he opted for a move to Napoli because he wanted to play Champions League football.

Sources also told ESPN FC that Spurs had the option to extend Llorente's contract but declined.

He returns to Serie A, where he won two Serie A titles at Juventus before joining Sevilla on loan.
