Madagascan Football Federation has awarded national team head coach Nicolas Dupuis a contract extension until July, 2019.

Dupuis put pen to paper to complete the deal on Tuesday.

He has been in charge of the national team since March, 2017.

The Frenchman has already chalked a piece of history with the Island nation after guiding to secure a place in the Africa Cup of Nations for the first ever time.

Les Barea booked a ticket for the 2019 AFCON after they beat Equatorial Guinea 1-0 at home in October, 2018.

The 51-year old was appointed to lead French fourth tier Fleury 91 side as interim manager in January as he combined with his role with the Southern African nation.

Madagascar will travel to Senegal for their last 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier game later in March.
