Man Utd 'approach Milinkovic-Savic but the price-tag remains €120m'

Manchester United have reportedly approached Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic via his agent and an intermediary, but the price-tag remains €120m.

According to French site FootMercato, in a story also picked up by several media outlets in England and Italy, Manchester United have identified SMS as the natural heir to Paul Pogba.

He’d have a similar expense, as Lazio already rejected a €110m offer from the Old Trafford side two years ago and his cachet has only increased this season.

They are alleged to be approaching Milinkovic-Savic via agent Mateja Kezman, but also using Fali Ramadani as an intermediary.

The 25-year-old Serbia international scored five goals with seven assists in 31 competitive games, taking Lazio to second place in Serie A, plus victory in the Italian Supercup, having already won the Coppa Italia last term.

Because the Aquile look destined for a place in the Champions League next season, they are even more reticent to sell Milinkovic-Savic and he’d be eager to test himself in the biggest competition with Lazio.

He is under contract until June 2024 and has also been heavily linked with Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Inter.
