Phil Foden is the first player born in the 2000s to score a Premier League goal for Man City
Manchester City returned to the top of the Premier League with a narrow win over Tottenham Hotspur at Etihad Stadium - three days after Spurs knocked them out of the Champions League.
Eighteen-year-old Phil Foden, making his second Premier League start, scored the only goal when he nodded home from close range after five minutes.
The game could not live up to Wednesday's 4-3 epic, and the reigning champions controlled much of the action with Bernardo Silva outstanding.
However, City looked fragile at the back and goalkeeper Ederson made fine saves from Son Heung-Min, Christian Eriksen and Lucas Moura, while Kyle Walker was fortunate to get away with what looked like handball in his own area.
The sight of Kevin de Bruyne limping off in the second half will also concern City manager Pep Guardiola with four games of the season remaining.
City hold a one-point lead over second-placed Liverpool, who travel to relegation-threatened Cardiff on Sunday.
More to follow.
