Manchester City vs Man United: Phil Foden says his team had 'the game of our lives' in big win

Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden labelled their comfortable win over rivals Man United as 'the game of our lives' as they secured a huge 2-0 win at Old Trafford.

Pep Guardiola's men were relatively unfazed in the Manchester Derby against a timid United side, leaving a massive 11-point gap between the two teams, and Foden was left in awe of the display they produced.

United have produced some disappointing displays this season despite bringing in three high profile signings - including Cristiano Ronaldo - but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has found himself under huge pressure after being unable to get consistent results out of his high profile stars.

But Foden focused on his own side's impressive performance, admitting 'everything went right' as City ran the show in one of their biggest games of the season.

'I think we had the game of our lives today, everything went right,' he told Sky Sports. 'A lot of possession, chances, dominated from start to finish really good.

'Me and Gabby [Jesus] tried to press the wing-backs, and Kevin [De Bruyne] and Bernardo [Silva] pressed too which worked. We knew we could exploit the space in behind and we picked best when to do it.

'It gives us massive confidence just before the internationals, it's really important to get the win. I'm very delighted. It was very important to get back to winning ways, we can take massive confidence as United are a great team and it's a difficult ground to come to. It makes it extra special (as a City boy).
