Manchester United react to more anti Ed Woodward and Glazer chants

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer attempted to side-step more chants about Ed Woodward and the Glazer family by Manchester United supporters during their 6-0 thrashing of Tranmere Rovers.

United coasted through their biggest win since August 2011 to progress to the FA Cup fifth round at Prenton Park, where their away following protested against the club's owners, the Glazers, and executive vice-chairman Woodward.

United fans chanted 'Love United, hate Glazers', 'We want United back', 'Every single one of us f------ hates Glazers', 'F--- off Woodward' and 'F--- off Glazers'. A number of United supporters twirled green and gold scarves above their heads and a green smoke bomb was also let off.

The chanting was widespread in two of United's home games against Norwich City and Burnley this month and Solskjaer had to address them again following the serene win over Tranmere.

"We're just going to keep on working and get the results right and moving the club forward," Solskjaer said. "Supporters are always happier when you win games, when you're successful. So we'll keep on working to get results."

Solskjaer also clarified United were not expecting any imminent incomings in the transfer window. United have until 11pm on Friday night to reinforce their squad and are understood to be in the market for a midfielder and a striker, both preferably on loan.

The United players were last week informed of the club's efforts to recruit two players, with highest scorer Marcus Rashford sidelined until late March with a double stress fracture to the back. Paul Pogba (ankle) and Scott McTominay (knee) will not be back until the Premier League trip to Chelsea on February 17, at the earliest.

"No, I would tell you if there was," Solskjaer succinctly said when asked about any possible signings.
