MANCHESTER UNITED - will increase security at Old Trafford

Published on: 16 May 2016

The Mirror reports that Manchester United will increase security for tomorrow's rescheduled  Premier League game against Bournemouth at Old Trafford.

It was originally called off on Sunday following a terror alert after a suspect package – later revealed to be a training device left in error by a private security firm– was discovered inside the stadium.

The game will now go ahead at 8pm on Tuesday and senior United sources have confirmed that enhanced security measures will be in force in and around Old Trafford.

Delays at Old Trafford are expected with the additional security checks and fans are likely to be advised to arrive earlier than they normally would to ensure they do not endure lengthy waits.

Vehicle checks, bag-checks and body-frisking are all set to be upped by matchday stewards and security staff at Old Trafford tomorrow with United determined not to fall victim to another terror scare.

United have refunded all fans who had tickets for Sunday's game and will grant them free entry to Old Trafford tomorrow to anyone who had a ticket for the original game.
