Massive shake-up in Berekum Chelsea after Jantuah takeover

Published on: 29 November 2021

As part of efforts to restructure the club following the new partnership acquired, Obed Nana Kwame Nketiah will now occupy the position as Executive Chairman of Berekum Chelsea.

The Ghana Premier League side has been taken over by new investors.

Business mogul and Politician Bernard Amofa Jantuah has been appointed as the Club's president  to steer the affairs of the club.

Jantuah takes over from Obed Nana Kwame Nketiah who has been the sole financier of the club since Emmanuel Kyeremeh's departure from the role.

Berekum Chelsea under its former president Emmanuel Kyeremeh was able to win the Ghana Premier League in the 2010/11 season and also reached the group stages of the CAF Champions League.

The team also produced many players for the national team such as Emmanuel Clottey, Solomon Asante, Richard Kissi Boateng among others who went on to win the CAF Champions League with TP Mazembe.

Since the departure of Emmanuel Kyeremeh, the Berekum based side has struggled financially and also failed to make any impact.

The current partnership with Bernard Amofa Jantuah is expected to help the club revive its giant's status and compete for laurels this season.

Nana Oduro Sarfo has been maintained as the Chief Executive Officer of the club, a position he held under Obed Nana Kwame Nketiah's administration.

The club is expected to make new changes to the playing body and technical staff in the coming days.

Berekum Chelsea is currently placed 15th on the league log and have an outstanding match against Hearts of Oak
