McClaren: Newcastle's French players have shared their grief

Published on: 21 November 2015

Newcastle United boss Steve McClaren says the Paris terror attacks have affected his players.

McClaren says his seven French players have helped each other in the aftermath of last weekend's terrorist attacks in Paris.

"They have shared the grief over what happened," he said. "It's a case of showing solidarity and hopefully the game will honour those who died in Paris.

"It shook Moussa (who was part of the squad at the Stade de France). We've spoken to him and consulted with him. He's been fine and he's in the right frame of mind to play.

"What happened is unique and should bring everybody together because it is a world issue."
