Medeama president Moses Armah insists the club’s technical director did the right thing to stop head coach Tom Strand from effecting a substitution during their 2-2 draw at Asante Kotoko last Sunday.

There was confusion on the bench when Augustine Adotey and other members of the technical team overruled Strand’s idea to replace two key performers Malik Akowuah and Kwame Boahene at half time.

Strand was left furious, did not perfect his duties on the touchlines and stood behind the dugout for the entire second half.

But Medeama were able to claw back to earn point from a difficult match and the club president is hailing Adotey’s intervention.

“Adotey did the right thing because we would have lost the match if those two influential players had been substituted,” Armah is quoted by the Graphic Sports.

Armah has revealed that the two technical brains had put the incident behind them and were working hand-in-hand towards Sunday’s CAF Confederation Cup first-leg game against Al Ittihad Tripoli in Tunis.
