Medeama president Moses Armah is predicting a win for his side ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup tie against Al Ittihad on Sunday.

The ambitious Ghanaian side will take on their Libyan counterpart in Sfax, Tunisia in the first leg tie in the round of 32.

Medeama drew bye following their sterling performance three years ago where they missed qualification to the group phase by a whisker.

However, their Libyan counterpart recorded a nervy 4-3 aggregate win over Nigerien side Sonidep – a 4-1 home win doing the damage for the North African side.

But Medeama president Moses Armah is in buoyant mood ahead of the crunch tie.

“We are going to win. In football anything can happen but I’m confident about our chances,” he told medeaamafmonline.com

“There is no turning back for us. We have come a long way and need to make Ghanaian proud.

“Ghanaians are looking up to us and we cannot afford to let them down. The task ahead is huge but we can overcome. We have to believe and deliver victory for Ghanaians.

“They (Ghanaians) are the most important in this equation.

He added: Of course it’s not going to be easy, but we have what it takes to win this game.

“You also have to pray to have luck on your side on the day. We are ready for Ittihad.

“We respect them but we’re ready for the clash.”

The West Africans are seeking a favourable result to make the return leg a mere formality.

The return leg takes place at the Essipong stadium in Sekondi on Sunday March 20.
