Mighty Jets booked their first victory in the Glo Premier League with a 1-0 win over newly promoted Wassaman United at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.

Young striker Abubakar Sidi capitalised on a horrible blunder from Wassaman goalkeeper Sammy Adjei to score the solitary goal of the game.

It was the visitors who made the first incursion under two minutes.

Former Accra Hearts of Oak winger Abdul Bashiru tested the agility of Mighty Jets goalkeeper with a ferocious drive from the outside of the penalty box.

Goalkeeper Shaibu Issahaku failed to make a first time save but managed to pick up the spilled ball.

However, it was Mighty Jets who took the lead on the 6th minute after Wassaman goalkeeper Sammy Adjei committed a horrendous error inside the box.

The goalkeeper blighted his chances of any consideration from Black Stars coach Goran Stevanovic who watched the game from the stands.

He sheepishly passed the ball into the way of Abubakar Sidi who gleefully slotted into the yawning net.

Prince Boateng waved some wizardry from the right flanks but Mighty Jets were steady.

Emmanuel Eyison looked set to fire home the leveller on the 41st minute after being played through by Abdul Bashiru but he was flagged offside.

Both teams failed to make any meaningful impact before the interval.

Neither of the side failed to show any promise of scoring in the opening thirty minutes of the second half.

Midfielder Prince Boateng tried to pull the chestnut out of the blazing fire with a cracking shot that rattled the Mighty Jets crossbar.

Kofi Owusu nearly doubled the scoring for Jets on the 90th minute after running past his marker. His piercing drive was expertly directed away by Sammy Adjei.
