MTN FA Cup: Asante Kotoko 1-2 Asokwa Deportivo - Porcupine Warriors suffer shock Round of 64 exit

Asante Kotoko have been bundled out of the MTN FA Cup following a shocking defeat against second-tier side Asokwa Deportivo at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.

Deportivo came from behind to win 2-1 and send the Porcupine Warriors - defending champions - crashing out of the competition at the Round of 64 stage.

Richard Arthur scored the first goal for Kotoko in the 33rd minute. Imoro Ibrahim played a lovely pass into the box which found William Opoku. He tried to hit it but failed and Arthur was the right place to strike into the net.

However, Deportivo restored parity on the stroke of halftime after Godfred Abban over goalkeeper Felix Annan and into the back of the net.

In the 65th minute, Deportivo grabbed the lead which turned out to be the winning goal.

This is Kotoko's earliest exit in the competition since it was reintroduced in 2011. They reached the final five times and won it twice in the last nine years.
