Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso believes his newly-born baby boy will bring him 'luck' in the upcoming season.

The Villarreal ace received news of the baby's delivery last Friday while on pre-season tour with the Spanish side.

The couple have named the one-week old baby Abdul-Aziz, who was born at the Lawsna Hospital in Villarreal at 5:45 pm.

Wakaso was impressive for the Yellow Submarines last season and featured in the club's semi-final feat in the Uefa Europa League.

"I was full of joy when I heard the news and this has given me something new in my life and Aziz can be a blessing," the 21-year-old told GHANAsoccernet.com

Villarreal must overcome Danish side OB Odense next week in the play-offs to progress to the Group stage of this season's Uefa Champions League.

Wakaso has been in fine form in pre-season and scored a wonder goal against Italian side Napoli.

In January this year, Wakaso was sacked by second-tier Elche FC only and he joined Villarreal second team where he made the grades and was promoted to the first team.

He made his Spanish Liga debut the following month against Racing Santander.
