Steaua Bucuresti midfielder Muniru Sulley has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a serious head injury in their League Cup semi-final clash with Astra on Wednesday.
Sulley violently clashed with an Astra player early on in the return leg clash and had emergency treatment on the pitch.
The 23-year-old suffered multiple facial bone fractures and had to be rushed to a hospital in Bucharest in an ambulance.
He was replaced by Alexandru Bourceanu as Steaua went on to win 2-0 and advanced to the final 3-0 on aggregate.
Steaua Bucuresti sporting director Mihai Stoica said: "We have lost him for the season. Hopefully he will start preparing with us in the summer with us."
