Muntari apologizes for Rafa Benitez spat

Inter midfielder Sulley Muntari has apologized to the rest of his team after launching a tirade at head coach Rafael Benitex following his exclusion from Sunday's derby d'Italia against Juventus.

The Ghana midfielder was so furious at being left out of the squad for the match and refused to watch the match from the stands - as he was required to do - and went home.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims the midfielder said sorry to coach Rafael Benitez, captain Javier Zanetti and director Marco Branca following the training session.

It is said Muntari explained his actions and claimed he did not want to create problems inside the dressing room.

The 26-year-old's disruptive behaviour was highlighted at the 2010 Fifa World finals where he cast aspersions on the Ghana technical team then headed by Serb Milovan Rajevac after being left on the bench.

Rajevac insisted on his axing from the team but was he had to apologise and was taken back into the team.

Muntari was later fielded and scored in the quarter-final match against Uruguay which ended their campaign.
