Muntari laments Ibra and Silva departures

AC Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari says the sale of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to Paris Saint-Germain is a big loss to the club.

Milan have explained the high-profile departures as a necessary consequence of their financial problems.

The San Siro outfit are yet to make any marquee signings with Machester City striker Carlos Tavez linked with side.

Muntari says the absence of the duo is a big loss to the Rossoneri.

"Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva were important players. It won't be easy to replace them," the 27-year-old said.

However, the Ghana international trusts Milan officials to get quality replacements before the new season begins.

"Ariedo Braida and Galliani have the experience to replace Ibra and Thiago. They already have an alternative plan ready. Milan will return to the top," he added.

"Why I’m so optimistic? Because of what happened in the past. Andriy Shevchenko and Kakà left, but Milan remained Milan. The senators? They were very important champions."
