Sulley Muntari is still seething over AC Milanââ¬â¢s halted run in the UEFA Champions League at the hands of Barcelona.
The Ghana international gave the Rossoneri a vital cushion with the second goal in the 2-0 win in the first leg of the Round of 16 tie against the Spanish giants.
But a Lionel Messi brace and one each from David Villa and Jordi Alba rendered Milanââ¬â¢s efforts in the first leg useless as they bowed out on a 4-2 aggregate scoreline.
Muntari who did not start the second leg game at the Nou Camp now says things just didnââ¬â¢t work out on the night for the Rossoneri though hopeful of a Champions League place for the club next season.
ââ¬ÅThe first leg we did great, we were very disciplined on the pitch and we managed to hold them,â⬠he told reporters in Ghana where he is on international duty with the Black Stars for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
ââ¬ÅIn Camp Nou, everything went wrong and with Barcelona you canââ¬â¢t do that, they will hurt you.
ââ¬ÅAnd that is what they did. It is part of football and we will try our best to gain another Champions League position next year.ââ¬
