My players have started bloating- Black Queens coach Mercy Tagoe

Head coach of the female national team of Ghana, the Black Queens, Mercy Quarcoo-Tagoeis lamenting over the lack of football, when has left her players gaining extra weight. 

According to the coach, the changes to the calendar has affected her team massively with players reluctant to train without any competitive football.

The Black Queens were preparing for the Women's Cup of Nations which was scheduled for the December this year, but the outbreak of COVID-19 has forced the postponement of the tournament.

“We were all disappointed because we started very well, thinking that we were going to continue," she said as quoted by Citi Sports.

“For women, when we are out of activity for a long time, we start bloating and that is exactly what is happening now," she added.

“Looking at the situation we are finding ourselves in, it is a matter of trying to keep fit for future tournaments.

“For now the girls are disappointed and I have been encouraging them."
