Napoli and Roma to duel over Atalanta star

Serie A sides Napoli and Roma are reportedly showing interest in Atalanta midfielder Marten De Roon.

The 25-year-old has impressed with La Dea throughout the campaign and his exploits may find the Dutchman playing in the Champions league next season.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, both clubs have made contact with Atalanta but have been warned that the player will not be sold for less than €12 million.

The former Netherlands youth international was brought to Bergamo last July from SC Heerenveen for a mere €750,000, so a sale would represent an impressive piece of business on the part of the Orobici.

The defensive midfielder has become a mainstay in the Atalanta lineup, featuring in 32 of the club’s 34 Serie A matches this season, scoring one goal and adding two assists.
