Ghana's Kudus Mohammed is in contention for the Golden Boy Award after making it into the final 80-man shortlist for the coveted accolade.

Mohammed's impressive season with FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark saw him make the 100-man shortlist which has now been pruned to eighty.

The Ghana midfielder excelled with the Wild Tigers, netting 11 times in 25 appearances as an offensive midfielder, earning him a big move to Ajax Amsterdam.

Kudus also earned his international debut within that same period, playing his first game with the Black Stars in the AFCON qualifier against South Africa. A game he scored his first goal in.

The 19-year old will be hoping to make the final 20-man shortlist with the aim of breaking into the last three.

The award is organised by Italian newspaper Tuttosport and decided by 40 high-profile writers from around the continent.

Wayne Rooney, Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero, Mario Balotelli, Isco, Paul Pogba, Raheem Sterling, Kylian Mbappe, Matthijs de Ligt, and Joao Felix are the previous winners of the award.
