For the 19-year-old it was his 40th of the season. Only world number four Stefanos Tsitsipas (42) has won more matches, but Alcaraz has five fewer tournaments to his name. Alcaraz is second only to Rafael Nadal in terms of winning percentage, 87% against 92%. “The match was very difficult. Not as easy as the scoreline might suggest. Norbert played very well and the first match at any tournament is never easy. We had to adapt to the conditions. It was hard but I got better and won,” Alcaraz said of his victory. In the quarter-finals, he will fight with…

At other Grand Slam tournaments, this has happened twice in the Open era: Steffi Graf reached the 1988 US Open final after Chris Evert was eliminated from the semi-finals, and Jim Currier reached the 1992 Australian Open final after Richard Krajicek was eliminated. I was very impressed when I watched her win the US Open. I saw the final. Her game was unbelievable. Early in life, it’s hard to take the success that comes down on you. But I wish her all the best. I think she’s an important person in our sport,” the ATP press service quotes Rafael Nadal as saying. ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥loved that! center courttt energyyy🕊🕊🇬🇧🇬🇧🤍🤍>>> pic.twitter.com/xDsbdFuka3 — Emma Raducanu (@EmmaRaducanu) June 27, 2022 At Wimbledon 2022 Emma Raducanu lost in the second round.
“I think 2022 was a real miracle for Nadal from the beginning. First, he took his first tournament, then his first Slam, then he got injured again and had a very crumpled preparation for Roland Garros. In the end, he won, and a couple of weeks later I thought maybe he needed time to rest and recover. But now he’s ready to try his hand at Wimbledon. I think only Rafa is capable of that – despite all the health problems, he successfully overcame them. It proves his humility and desire to keep moving forward. I don’t think he’s aiming…
They met for the first time in an official match in the Roland Garros final, with Nadal winning 6-3, 6-3, 6-0. “I don’t remember. I’m sorry (smiling). I don’t know about training. However, Casper is a great player. He’ll be 4th in the race. Very high up in the rankings, he’s been adding every year. In the past, he was only good on clay, but now he’s winning tournaments and competing for important titles on other surfaces. I think that’s the most important thing in sports. He’s getting better all the time. And even though the finals were tough for…
“I don’t have a clear opinion on that. There is always an office or a person who makes the decision, and all the players have to follow it. Every player has an opinion on everything, but in this world, we need someone to make decisions. It doesn’t matter if I agree or disagree. At the end of the day, I understand both sides. “I respect and understand the Wimbledon position, no doubt, but on the other hand, I understand and respect the ATP’s desire to protect its members,” Nadal said at the press conference for his Roland Garros second-round exit.…
