Nigerian great Okocha expected in Accra for Glo-Caf awards

Austin Jay Jay Okocha is one of the prestigious guests expected at the 2012 Glo-CAF awards to be hosted in Ghana on Thursday.

The ex Nigeria captain will be accompanied by his ex Super Eagles teammate Victor Ikpeba as they join other current and former international greats at the awards ceremony that will crown the King of African Football.

The flagship award; African Footballer of the Year is being contested by the  Ivorian duo of Didier Drogba and Yaya Toure alongside Cameroon midfielder Alexander Song.

The awards ceremony which will take place at the State Banquet Hall in Accra on Thursday will see the assemble of the finest active and retired footballers, administrators, journalists and fans across the continent.

CAF President Issa Hayatou and some high ranking officials will arrive in Accra on Tuesday ahead of the grand ceremony two days later.

Sponsor’s of the awards ceremony, Glo are also giving away free tickets to loyal subscribers of their network.

300 tickets have already been given away with 50 left to go.

Two lucky subscribers from the allocated free tickets will be randomly picked for an all-expense paid trip to Dubai.

African entertainment gurus; Salif Keita and Lagbaja will be the headline performers on the night.
