President of Nkoranza Warriors Kuuku Barthels has disproved allegation made against Hearts of Oak board member Alhaji Akambi that he collected a bribe of GH¢200 to facilitate a move for Emmanuel Sarkodie to the club.

On Thursday, former scribe of Hearts of Oak National Chapter Committee (NCC), Paa Kofi Sunsum made a damning allegation against Alhaji Akambi that he was played an adverse role in the club's failure to secure the signature of Emmanuel Sarkodie.

Sarkodie was mooted to be favouring a move to the Phobians following his impressive performance for Nkoranza Warriors in the 2019/20 Division One League.

But the enterprising midfielder swerved the Accra-based giants to sign for sworn rivals Asante Kotoko.

During an interview with Happy FM, Paa Kofi Sunsum indicated that Hearts of Oak could have secured the midfielder but the move scuppered due to Alhaji Akambi's shameful act of collecting a bribe of GH¢200 from Nkoranza Warriors president to engineer the transfer.

However, Mr. Barthels has refuted the allegation, saying he is ready to help Alhaji Akambi to take legal action against Paa Kofi Sunsum.

"Yes indeed Hearts of Oak gave me ¢500 but I never gave Alhaji Akambi ¢200 neither did I give him any amount out the money," Barthels stated on FOX FM.

"Personally I have advised Alhaji Akambi to resort to court for his image to be redeemed even if I have to assist him."
