Noel Gallagher predicted Yaya Toure would win League Cup on penalties for Man City

Celebrity Manchester City fan Noel Gallagher had correctly predicted that the Citizens would win the League Cup in a shootout with a winning penalty by Yaya Toure.

Gallagher may be better known for his vocal and songwriting abilities but the former Oasis front man and current High Flying Birds singer/songwriter is not too shabby when it comes to making football predictions as well.

Gallagher had predicted ahead of City's League Cup final against Liverpool that his beloved side would win the game on penalties and even backed Toure to net the winning spot kick.

The 48-year old had said: "I think it's going to be mega close and I'm not very optimistic. But I'm going to say we'll win on penalties. Yaya. Roll it in."

Following the game, Gallagher was delighted to have been proven exactly right but stated that he would have preferred avoiding the nail biting ordeal of the penalties. He said: "I did call it. I wish it hadn't have been penalties, but they are great when you win."
