NORWICH v ARSENAL RECAP: Canaries stifle under-fire Gunners

Published on: 01 December 2015

Norwich City put a slight dent in Arsenal's title hopes on Sunday.

The Canaries forced a 1-1 draw at Carrow Road which was the Gunners' third Premier League fixture without a win.

Mesut Ozil stuck first for Arsene Wenger's side on the half-hour mark with a lovely finish across his body from an Alexis Sanchez through ball before Lewis Grabban, starting for the first time since opening day, took his chance to level for Norwich when muscling out ??? to slot home a neat pass from Robbie Brady.

Neither side were able to come up with a winner in a match which saw Arsenal finish without Sanchez, who limped off with a hamstring injury, and Laurent Koscielny, who injured his hip early in proceedings, while Santi Cazorla hobbled to 90 minutes with a knee problem.

The result saw Alex Neil's Norwich drop to 16th place while Arsenal fell to fourth and now sit two points off leaders Manchester City.

- Norwich are mixing it with the big boys but require wins to steer clear of the bottom three.

- Will the injuries to Sanchez, Koscielny and Cazorla come back to bite the Gunners who are already struggling to find fit players??

QUOTES CORNER

Norwich boss Neil on the display of Grabban who was suspended by the club earlier in the season:

"He gives me work-rate, will run the channels and retain it really well. Every player goes out there with something to prove. There was more of an edge to him and his game today, that is what he is able to do."

Arsenal's Wenger on his side's bad day:

"We lost Sanchez, Cazorla played on one leg and of course we lost Koscielny at the start of the game, it is a fair point for Norwich. It was, on the injury-front, a bad afternoon for us."??
