Opeele warns Ghana players to stay out coaching debate

Controversial coach Isaac 'Opeele' Boateng has warned Ghana players to stay out the debate for a new Black Stars coach.

Several players including captain John Mensah and Richard Kingson have come out in support Akwasi Appiah to replace Milovan Rajevac.

Dede Ayew has backed Marcel Desailly for the job while goalkeeper William Amamoo says he wants a local coach for the job.

But Opeele says the players must stay out of the debate to allow the Ghana Football Association to make its own decision.

"The Black Stars players must put up or shut in the coaching debate to allow the GFA the space to choose the right coach," Opeele said.

"The GFA has shown consistently by choosing Rajevac and Dujkovic that they are capable of doing the right thing by giving us the best coach.

"They are insiders and interested parties so if they join the debate they are trying to influence the GFA rightly or wrongly.

"But above all if they back one coach and another is chosen, they could be victimized by the coach they didn't back and that could be a problem.

More than fifty coaches have applied for the post vacated by Rajevac three weeks ago.
