European football specialist, Herbert Boakye Yiadom brings to you first installment on how Ghanaian players performed in abroad on Friday and Saturday in their respective clubs across Europe and the world.

Bernard Tekpetey is clearly making a case for himself as the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations draws nearer. The former Schalke 04 marksman has scored his tenth goal of the season for SC Parderbon 07 in the Bundesliga II this weekend against FC Koln. He is currently the leading top scorer of Ghanaian players abroad.

Kevin-Prince Boateng made his first appearance in the La Liga for Barcelona in their 1-0 win over Real Valladolid. He was replaced by Luis Suarez in the 60th minute.

Richmond Boakye-Yiadom announced his presence in the second half of the Serbian League with a brace for Red Star Belgrade in heavy victory over Vojvodina.

I bring to you a break down of how Ghanaian players fared on Friday and Saturday

ENGLAND

In the Championship, Andy Yiadom lasted 90 minutes for Reading as they suffered a 4-0 defeat to Sheffield United.

Albert Adomah was an unused substitute in Aston Villa’s 2-0 defeat by West Bromwich Albion.

In League One, Tarique Fosu did not make the match day squad for Charlton Athletic in as they were held to a draw by Blackpool. Joe Dodo was introduced into the game in the 58th minute for Blackpool

In League Two, Immanuelson Duku was introduced into the game in the 65th minute as his side loss to Grimsby Town by a lone goal.

Hiram Boateng missed Exeter City 1-0 defeat at home to Bury through injury.

Koby Arthur played 78 minutes for Macclesfield Town as they drew 1-1 with Colchester United. Enock Andoh was left out of Macclesfield matchday squad.

In the National League, Bernard Mensah played 90 minutes for Aldershot in their goalless draw with FC Halifax.

Kwame Thomas was left out of Solihull Moors in their 2-2 draw with Barnet.

Nana Owusu played the last 15 minutes for Maidenhead in their 1-0 win at Leyton Orient.

SPAIN

Kevin-Prince Boateng made his first appearance in the La Liga for Barcelona in their 1-0 win over Valladolid. Boateng was replaced by Luis Suarez in the 60th minute.

Thomas Partey missed Atletico Madrid win over Rayo Vallecano in the La Liga due to suspension.

Meanwhile, Rafael Dwamena was introduced in to the game in the 84th minute as Levante defeated Celta Vigo by 4-1 in the La Liga. Emmanuel Boateng missed the game for the victors due to coach's decision as he nears a move to Chinese side Dalian Yifang.

In the Segunda Division, Sulley Muntari is yet to make his debut for Albacete Balompie as they picked a point against Real Zaragoza. Muntari was not included in the match day squad.

Richard Boateng warmed the bench for AD Alcorcon in their 1-0 loss at Real Oviedo.

ITALY

Yusif Rahman Chibsah lasted 90 minutes for Frosinone Calcio in their 3-0 defeat at Juventus.

In Serie B, Moses Odjer was an unused substitute for Salernitana as they won away to Bright Addai’s Ascoli by 4-2. Addai was introduced in to the game in the second half and picked a booking as well.

Bright Gyamfi was an unused substitute in Benevento’s 1-0 win over Cittadella

FRANCE

Majeed Waris play 90 minutes for Nantes in their 1-0 defeat by AS Monaco. Enoch Kwateng played 90 minutes for the losers.

In the Ligue 2, Ebenezer Assifuah warmed the bench in Le Havre 2-0 loss to Nancy.

GERMANY

Kasim Nuhu played 90 minutes for Hoffenheim in their 3-0 win over Hannover 96 in the Bundesliga.

Issah Abass was once again left out of FSV Mainz 05 matchday squad as they lost 3-0 to Wolfsburg.

Derrick Luckassen missed Hertha Berlin game against Werder Bremen through injury.

In the Bundesliga II, Joseph-Claude Gyau played 82 minutes for Duisburg as they lost to Union Berlin by 3-2.

Bernard Tekpetey scored his ninth goal of the season for Paderbon in their 3-2 win over FC Koln.

Gideon Jung lasted 67 minutes for Hamburg in their 2-2 draw with Heindenham.

In the Budesliga III, Bernard Kyere played 90 minutes for Fortuna Koln as they lost 3-1 to Braunschweig. Team mate Christopher Antwi was unused substitute in the game.

Daniel-Kofi Kyereh and Agyemang Diawusie played 88 and 72 receptively for SV Wehen in their 2-1 win at Unterhaching.

Braydon Manu enjoyed 90 minutes for Hallescher in the goalless draw with Lotte.

Kelvin Weidlich was introduced at half time for Energie Cottbus in their 3-0 loss at Mepen.

THE NETHERLANDS

Jonathan Opoku warmed the bench for VVV Venlo in their 2-0 loss at AZ Alkmaar. Myron Boadu missed the game for the victors through injury.

Cody Gakpo came on at half time f or PSV as they rallied from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Heerenveen.

In the Eerste Divisie, Rodney Antwi was saw 20 minutes of action for FC Voledem in 1-0 win over Helmond.

Asumah Abubakar played some few minutes of action for Maastricht in their 4-2 win over Jong Utrecht.

Kevin Luckassen was introduced into the game in Almere City 1-0 away win over Waalwijk.

AUSTRIA

Samuel Tetteh was on target for LASK Links as they battered St. Polten 6-0 in the OBF Cup.

BAHRAIN

Joseph Adjei was named man-of-the-match for Al Malkiya in their 1-0 win over Al-Budaiya.

BELGIUM

Bernard Kumordzi was an unused substitute for KV Kortrijk as they loss to Charlerol by 2-1 at home.

Samuel Asamoah and Elton Acolatse lasted the entire duration for Sint Truiden in their 1-1 draw against Waregem. Acolatse picked up a booking in the game.

Nana Akwesi Asare captained KK Genk to lose 2-1 at Waasland-Beveren. Nana Ampomah missed the game for the victors due to injury.

Eric Ocansey missed KAS Eupen 1-1 draw with Oostende through injury.

In the Proximux League, Ernest Agiyiri played 90 minutes for Tubize in their 3-0 home loss against KV Mechelen. Divine Naah missed the game for the losers through injury.

Kamal Sowah again missed OH Leuven matchday squad due to injury as they walloped Westerlo 3-0.

BULGARIA

Edwin Gyasi lasted 67 minutes for CSKA Sofia in their 2-0 defeat at Cherno More.

CROATIA

Maxwell Acosty played full throttle for NK Rijeka in their goalless draw with Hadjuk Split.

Nasiru Moro enjoyed the entire duration for NK Gorica in their 2-2 draw with Inter Zapresic.

CZECH REPUBLIC

Emmanuel Antwi played full period of action for Pribram in their 3-2 win over Zlin.

DENMARK 

Danny Amankwaah lasted 56 minutes for Sonderjyske in their 2-0 home loss against Aarhus.

Abdul Mumin played 90 minutes for FC Nordsjaelland in their 2-1 win over Hobro. Godsway Donyoh lasted  Collins Tanor was not included the losers matchday squad. 81 minutes while Sadiq Ibrahim, Kudus Mohammed and Gideon Mensah missed the action for Nordsjaelland due to national assignment.

HUNGARY

Abraham Frimpong lasted 60 minutes for Ferencvaros in their 2-1 loss to Debrecen.

Reagy Ofosu picked a booking but played 90 minutes for Haladas in their 2-1 loss against Mezokovesd-Zsory.

MEXICO

Joseph Akrong picked a booking but played 90 minutes for Zacapetec in their 1-0 win at Alebrijes.

PORTUGAL

Alhassan Wakaso and Joseph Amoah both featured for Vitoria Guimaraes in their 2-0 win over Portimonense. Amoah was substituted in the 81 minute and picked a booking as well. Henry Medarious missed the action for Guimaraes through injury. Emmanuel Hackman played 56th minutes for the losing side.

Ahmed Said Ahmed was introduced into the game in the 23rd minute as Rio Ave lost to Santa Clara by 2-1 at home.

In the Segunda, Kwame Nsor missed Academico Visue 3-2 loss at Famalicoa through injury.

ROMANIA 

Isaac Donkor warmed the bench for U Craiova 1948 CS in their 1-0 win at FC Hermannstadt.

SERBIA

Samuel Owusu played the entire duration for Cukaricki in their 2-0 loss at Radnicki Nis.

Boakye Yiadom gabbed a brace for Red Star Belgrade in their 4-0 win over Vojvojina. Rashid Sumaila was left out of the victors matchday squad.

SCOTLAND

Thomas Agyepong missed Hibernian 2-0 win over Hamilton due to injury.

SLOVAKIA

Mitch Apau picked an injury and was taken off in the 36th minute for Slovan Bratislava in their 1-0 win at Dun. Streda.

Benson Annang was left out of MSK Zilina match squad 1-1 draw with Spartak Trnava.

Patrick Asmah played 90 minutes for FK Senica in their 3-0 loss at Trencin. Edmund Addo cameoed for the losers while Mohammed Lamine played full minutes for the victors.

Sadat Sulley picked a booking but lasted 90 minutes for Michalovce in their 1-0 win over Sered.

SWEDEN

Thomas Boakye plast 90 minutes for Halmstad in their goalless draw with Ostersunds in the Swedish Cup. Samuel Mensah warmed the bench for Ostersunds while Frakn Arhin missed the game through national assignment.

Nasiru Mohammed cameoed for Hacken BK in their 6-1 win over Brage. Kwame Kizito was not included in the winners squad.

SWITZERLAND

Majeed Ashimeru and Nuhu Musah featured for St. Gallen in their 3-1 loss to FC Thun. Nuhu Musah was substituted and Ashimeru picked a yellow card in the game.

In the Challenge League, Kwadwo Duah was introduced into the game in the 80th minute for Servette as they were held to 1-1 draw against Wil.

TURKEY

Andre Ayew was introduced into the game in the 63rd minute as Fenerbache were held to a draw by Konyaspor.

Elvis Manu missed Akhisar Genclik Spor goalless draw with Ankaragucu through suspension.

In the Super Lig II, Mahatma Otoo was introduced into the game in the 85th minute as his side loss to Umraniyespor by 2-0
