Performances of Ghanaian players abroad

ENGLAND 

Arsenal continued their revival in the English Premier League with a come-from-behind 2-1 victory at new boys Norwich City. Young midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong remained with the Arsenal reserves. In the Championship, Leeds United made it two wins out of two after beating relegation-threatened Burnley 2-1 at the Turf Moor. Winger Lloyd Sam gate-crashed the Leeds United starting line up and lasted the entire match. Elsewhere at the Vicarage Road Stadium Watford helped themselves to a 2-0 triumph over Portsmouth and lifted themselves out of the drop zone. Box-to-box midfielder Prince Abankwah Buaben was a full timer for Watford. At the St Andrew's Park, young striker Akwasi Asante was left out of the Birmingham City 18-man squad when settled for a 1-1 draw with Peterborough. New Ghana striker Jeffrey Schulpp was introduced on the 74th minute for Leicester City who brushed aside Crystal Palace 3-0. Defender John Pantsil was left out of the Leicester City team. Albert Adomah was replaced on the 90th minute mark in Bristol City's 2-1 victory at Millwall. In the League One, on loan Liverpool young striker David Amoo played 81 minutes for Burywho thrush Walsall 4-2 at their own home soil.

ITALY 

Inter Milan managed to beat Cagliari 2-1 to stay out of the relegation zone. Sulley Ali Muntari who suffered an injury on Ghana duty watched the game from the stands. Young striking sensation Amidu Salifu walked his way into the Fiorentina 18-man squad for their game against AC Milan which ended 0-0. The former Ghana U20 striker though sat on the bench. The retired Kevin Prince Boateng is serving a three match ban.  Udinese slipped to fourth place after suffering a 2-0 loss at Parma. Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu watched the entire match from the bench but compatriot Kwadwo Asamoah played 83minutes. Leaders Juventus condemned Palermo to a 3-0 defeat at the Juventus Arena. Young midfielder Afriyie Acquah sat on the bench. In the Serie B, Sassuolo were held to a 1-1 drawn game by 10-man Brescia at the Stadio Alberto Braglia. Ghana junior striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom made an injury return to play 45 minutes for Sassuolo however, his Ghanaian compatriot Isaac Cofie lasted the entire period for Sassuolo. Mase Nana Addo Welbeck failed to break into the Brescia first team squad for the game. Grosseto shocked 4th placed Padova 1-0 on their own home soil. Striker Yaw Asante warmed the Grosseto bench. In the Primavera League, striker Maxwell Boadu Acosty returned from suspension to bag a hat-trick for Fiorentina who hammered Modena 4-2. Daniel Kofi Agyei captained the Fiorentina side while defender Nii Ashong Nortey played the full 90 minutes. Inter Milan suffered a 1-0 loss at Novara after giving away a 94th minute goal. Midfielder Joseph Alfred Duncan played the entire 90 minutes for Inter Milan who finished the game with ten men.

GERMANY 

Schalke 04 moved to European spot after trouncing Nurnberg 4-0 at the Veltins Arena. Veteran defender Hans Adu-Sarpei watched the match from the stands. Ghana centre-half Isaac Vorsah dropped to the Hoffenheim bench for the first time this season when they lost 2-0 at Hamburg. Young defender Leonard Sowah failed to break into the Hamburg first team squad. In the Bundesliga II, new Ghana midfielder Charles Takyi warmed the bench for Saint Pauli who comfortably edged Hansa Rostock 3-1. Ghanaian winger Mohammed Lartey conspicuously missed out of the Hansa Rostock 18-man squad for the tie. In the Liga 3, Jurgen Duah was left out of the Preußen Münster 18-man squad that recorded a 2-0 loss at SV Sandhausen. Striker Eric Agyemang came off the bench to bag a brace for Arminia Bielefeld who lost 4-3 at Carl Zeiss Jena. The former AshGold striker scored on the 66th and 75th minutes. Young defender Marcel Appiah sat on the bench. There was no place in the Rot-Weiß Erfurt first team for Jeff Ofosu-Aryeh as they stumped SpVgg Unterhaching 3-1.

SPAIN

Villarreal ended their two game win-less span by narrowly beating Real Betis 1-0. Ghana youth winger Wakaso Mubarak warmed the bench for the Yellow Submarines. Real Sociedad continued their spell in the relegation zone after failing to beat Espanyol at the Estadio Municipal de Anoeta. Former Ajax Amsterdam youngster Jeffery Sarpong conspicuously missed out of the Sociedad first team squad.

FRANCE On Friday, an enterprising Stade Rennes side deepened Olympique Lyon's woes by beating them 2-1 at the Municipal de Gerland. Ghana captain John Mensah sat out of the clash due to injury same as John Boye. Defender Jerry Vandam was booked on the 30th minute and played full time for Caen who surrendered their 2-1 lead on the 90th minute to draw 2-2 at Ajaccio. Evian Thonon Gaillard moved up to 12th place after edging Lorient 2-1 at the Parc des Sports. Ghana midfielder Rabiu Mohammed was introduced on the 82nd minute for Evian. Ghana center-half Jonathan Mensah watched the game from the stands. In-form Montpellier halted the Olympique Marseille by beating them 1-0 at the Stade de la Mosson. The Ayew brothers started the game but Jordan Ayew was replaced on the 79th minute. Andre Ayew who played the entire match was booked on half hour mark. In the reserves Ligue 1, Ghana U20 defender Kamal Issah played 45 minutes for Stade Rennes who defeated Le Mans 2-0.

HOLLAND FC Twente stretched Heracles Almelo's win-less run to three games after holding them to a one-all drawn game at the Polman Stadion. Kwame Quansah played the full regulation minutes for Heracles.  Nana Akwasi Asare captain FC Utrecht in their 2-2 drawn game at ADO Den Haag. Feyenoord Rotterdam condemned Vitesse Arnhem to a 4-0 loss at the GelreDome. Ghana's Anthony Annan lasted the entire match for Vitesse while youngster Stanley Aborah Junior was a 46th minute sub. In the second-tier, both Mitch Apau and Jonathan Opoku played full time for Veendam who recorded a 1-0 loss on home turf to Zwolle. Former Ghana U17 striker Kelvin Bossman played 18 minutes for Helmond Sport who lost 3-2 to Dordrecht.  Striker Gideon Boateng warmed the bench for MVV who smoothly edged Oss 3-1.

NORWAY Stromsgodset could end up with an European place if they win their next home game. This comes after they defeated Valerenga 2-1 on Sunday. Ghana No 1 Adam Larsen Kwarasey kept the post for Stroms while Abdul Razak Nuhu held down his starting role. Mohammed Abu was suspended for the tie. Rosenborg BK dropped to fifth place after going down 3-1 at Tromso. Hard-tackling midfielder Awal Issah Mohammed played the entire match for Rosenborg. Defender Yaw Amankwah Ihle sat on the Brann bench when they thumped relegation boundLillestrom 2-0. Odd Grenland helped themselves to fourth place after beating Sogndal 1-0. Former Ghana U17 captain Paul Addo warmed the bench for Odd Grenland. King Osei Gyan scored a 90th minute equaliser for Viking who drew 1-1 with relegated IK Start. Winger Ernest Asante played the entire 90 minutes for IK Start.

TURKEY 

Striker Matthew Amoah was left out of the Mersin Idmanyurdu team that were held to a 1-1 draw by Trabzonspor at their own backyard. Former Ghana U23 defender Jerry Akaminko was a pillar at the back for Manisaspor which drew one-all with Gaziantepspor.  In the Turkish second-tier Sakaryaspor shared the spoils with Karsiyaka in a 1-1 draw. Striker Dominic Adiyiah lost his place in the Karsiyaka regular 18-man squad. Former Accra Hearts of Oak whizkid Torric Djibril played 83 minutes in Bucaspor's goalless drawn game at Boluspor.

SWITZERLAND 

FC Servette recorded their third loss of the season after suffering a 3-0 defeat with ten men at Thun. Wing-wizard Ishmael Yartey somehow distinguished himself for Servette.

BELGIUM 

There was neither Daniel Opare nor Patrick Amoah in action when Standard Liege recorded a 3-1 victory over OH Leuven in the Belgian Pro League. Striker William Owusu Acheampong did not make the trip with Westerlo who slipped to a 3-0 defeat at AA Genk. Abdul Iddi Yakeen was red carded just after 18 minutes in an incident-filled game which ended with Zulte-Waregem holding KV Mechelen to a 1-1 draw. There was neither Rahim Ayew nor Cofie Bekoe in Lierse BK's 2-1 reverse at Mons. Dennis Odoi was an unused sub for Anderlecht who crashed Sint-Truiden 3-1.

UKRAINE 

Kryvbas piled more pressure on Juade Ramos after beating his FC Dnipro 2-0 at their own backyard on Saturday. Ghana pair Derek Owusu Boateng and Samuel Inkoom both started the game for Dnipro but Inkoom was replaced just before the start of the second period. Ghana youth winger Abeiku Quansah warmed the bench for Arsenal Kiev in their 0-0 stalemate at Illichivets.

DENMARK 

Nordsjaelland defeated SønderjyskE 2-0 to stay in second place. Midfielder Enock Adu Kofi was a full timer for Nordsjaelland.

GREECE 

Winger Quincy Owusu-Abeyie played 90 minutes in Panathinaikos' 1-1 draw at Olympiakos Piraeus.  Former Hibernian midfielder Abdul Osman helped Kerkyra to beat Ergotelis 2-1. Panionios consolidated their ninth place on the table after drawing goalless at Doxa Dramas. Panaitolikos suffered heavily from David Addy's 6th minute sending off as they lost 3-0 to PAOK Saloniki.

PORTUGAL Rio Ave crushed out of the Taca de Portugal after going down 3-2 to Torrense. FC Porto loanee Christian Atsu Twasam played the full match for Rio Ave. In the Portuguese reserves league, FC Porto romped to a 3-0 victory over Povoa de Varzim FC. Nimble-footed Enoch Ebo Andoh scored the third goal and set up the second for FC Porto.

CYPRUS 

Nea Salamis were held to a 1-1 draw by Enosis. Former Ghana international Lukeman Imoro did full time action for Nea Salamis but former Charlton Athletics striker Chris Dickson was replaced after the first 45 minutes. Apollon destroyed Alki 5-1 to move to fifth place. 18-year-old midfielder Carlos Ohene was in action as they were heavily defeated. Another Ghanaian youngster Yusif Rahman was introduced on the 46th minute.

POLAND

Lechia Gda'sk dropped further closer to the relegation zone after losing 3-0 at Legia Warsaw. Fred Benson was introduced after 77 minutes.SERBIA 

Sloboda Sevojno ended their three match winless span by beating bottom-placed Metalac GM 4-1. Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Francis Bossman missed out of the game. Kontoh Owusu-Ansah played 45 minutes for Metalac. Quincy Osei also played in Hajduk Kula's 1-0 win over Novi Pazar. Lee Addy played the full 90 minutes for Red Star Belgrade who travelled to disgrace Jagodina 3-1.

ISRAEL 

Laryea Kingston was left out of the Hapoel Be'er Sheva when they drew 1-1 with Maccabi Petah Tikva. In the Ligat Al, Daniel Addo was replaced in the 72nd minute by Armon Ben Naim as Hapoel Petah Tikva lost 0-1 at home to Ashdod. Eric Gawu was an unused substitute as Bnei Sakhnin beat Hapoel Haifa 2-1.UAE 

In the Emirates Cup, Asamoah Gyan failed to find net for Al Ain but he was booked on the 23 minute and played the full match as Al Ain beat Al Wasl 1-0.

MOLDOVA 

Former Ghana U20 defender Kassenu Ghandy was a pillar in defence for leaders FC Sheriff who massacred Sfintul Gheorghe 5-0. Sensational striker Eric Eshanu Sackey returned from injury to play 35 minutes for Sfintul. Abdul Razak Salifu missed out of the Sfintul first team.

SCOTLAND Striker Manuel Agogo watched the entire action from the bench when his Hibernian were held to a 1-1 draw by Kilmarnock.
