PFAG to launch Insurance and Player Welfare Fund on Monday

The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana will be luanching the ling- awaited insurance package for footballers and a welfare fund dubbed 'Life after Football Fund' on Monday, 21st March 2016 at exactly 6:30pm.

The event which takes place at the Alisa Hotel in Accra will see many dignitaries and ex-football gracing the occasion.

This is the first of its kind to be launched in the country and it is set to alleviate the challenges of footballers after their illustrious careers and in times of injuries.

In a statement released by the Communications Department of the PFAG and signed by Thomas Boakye Agyemang, the insurance package is designed to cover players for accidental deaths, critical illness and general accidents suffered by a player on the field of play.

The PFAG, with former Black Stars defender Anthony Baffoe as its General Secretary started operations in Ghana in June 2009 and is affiliated to the International Federation for Professional Footballers [FIFPro].
