Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo has rewarded each member of the Black Satellites $10,000 for winning the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations tournament.
The 33-man contingent will receive a total of $330,000 for winning the title.
This was announced by the President when he met the playing body and technical staff at the Jubilee House on Tuesday.
According to the President, $5,000 will be paid in cash whilst the other $5000 will be invested for the next 10 years.
Apart from the players and the technical team, the GFA President, Kurt Okraku, and other senior members of the Ghana FA including the head of the Ghanaian team to the U-20 tournament, Dr. Randy Abbey and Ghana FA Executive Council member, Samuel Anim Addo, were also present.
Ghana defeated Uganda in the final game to win the country's fourth U-20 AFCON trophy having won it in 1993, 1995 and 1999.
