Hellas Verona

Pierluigi Gollini – 6 – Busy

Didn’t have much chance with Inter’s first two goals but could have done better on the third, as Perisic’s strike beat the 20-year-old at his near post with not the hardest of shots.

Eros Pisano – 6 – Steady

Got on the scoresheet with a fine header from a Marrone free kick as he rose between Murillo and Geoffrey Kondogbia to give Verona a 2-1 lead. Tryed to play offside instead of cutting out Rodrigo Palacio’s cross for Inter’s third.

Vangelis Moras – 6.5 – Dependable

Made some fine blocks and interceptions in the first half but was stretched to the limit in the second as Inter piled on the pressure to level the game.

Filip Helander – 5.5 – Header

Equalised for the home side on 12 minutes after towering above Juan Jesus and Murillo to head home from a Marrone corner. Caught ball-watching as Icardi nipped in behind the Swede to pulled the game back to 3-2 on the hour.

Michelangelo Albertazzi – 4.5 – Sluggish

Let Inter full-back Yuto Nagatomo put in some dangerous crosses in the first half, as the former AC Milan left-back failed to close the down the spaces down the left. Wasn’t helped out much by Mohamed Fares in his defence.

Pawel Wszolek – 5 – Erratic

The Poland international failed to supply Luca Toni and Giampaolo Pazzini with enough quality crosses throughout the game. Worked hard getting back defending when needed.

Luca Marrone – 7 – Assist

The central midfielder produced a hat-trick of set piece assists to set up all three Verona goals with two pinpointed corners and one free kick delivery to his name. Booked on 82 minutes for a cynical foul on Rodrigo Palacio when Inter look set to break away on a dangerous counterattack.

Artur Ionita – 5.5 – Industrious

The Moldova international produced a bullet header to beat Samir Handanovic on 57 minutes to give the home side a 3-1 lead, as he made a fine run to beat Murillo to the ball to head past the rooted Inter goalkeeper.

Mohamed Fares – 5.5 – Runner

Made some fine runs down the left hand side of the Gialloblu attack, especially one on 34 minutes which nearly lead to a goal after a fine run and cutback. Didn’t track back a couple of times in the first half, which left Nagatomo free to get in some dangerous crosses for the away side.

Luca Toni – 5 – Target

The big forward looked out of sorts and a bit sluggish, but seemed to cause panic in the Inter defence with his presence alone from set pieces despite not getting on the end of any of them.

Giampaolo Pazzini – 6 – Worker

Tireless workrate all afternoon from the former AC Milan front-man without having any real chances to score. Was out-jumped by Murillo from Marcelo Brozovic’s corner for the Nerazzurri’s first goal after eight minutes.
