Prandelli backing 'practical' Inter Milan in title pursuit

Former Italy coach Cesare Prandelli has backed a 'practical' Inter Milan in this season's title race.

Inter's style of play has been criticised by pundits, but they're among the Scudetto favourites.

"If Inter win the Scudetto, nobody will remember the unimpressive first 10 games," Prandelli told the Corriere dello Sport.

“In a 'resultist' culture like ours, whoever wins is always right. It's difficult to explain what beautiful football is anyway.

“As far as I'm concerned, it's seeking the victory through a fluid manoeuvre, attempting to play enjoyable football made of synchronised movements at pace, with and without the ball.

“You can win playing well or less well, but when a team achieves a great objective like the Scudetto, Cup or promotion, it means they've played good football in some sense.

“With my Fiorentina and the Italy side I always sought beautiful football. Time will give a fair evaluation of the work I did for the Nazionale."
